Palcher-Silliman receives 2023 CUTC Award for Administrative Leadership
CSCRS is pleased to announce that Jennifer Palcher-Silliman, CSCRS’s Professional Development and Outreach Program Manager, was honored with the 2023 Council of University Transportation Centers (CUTC) Award for Administrative Leadership. Palcher-Silliman received the award on Saturday, January 6, 2024, during the annual CUTC Awards Banquet in Washington, DC.
This award is given annually to an individual in a staff position or non-tenure-track faculty position in support of the administration of a CUTC member institution transportation center. The award recognizes outstanding administrative leadership contributions to the transportation field by non-academic appointments.
“Jennifer is a model of project and program administrative leadership, supporting both internal and external communications and helping deliver excellent resources and safety programs to a broad range of audiences and end users,” said Laura Sandt, CSCRS Director. “Her ability to multi-task, collaborate, and creatively support program delivery is unmatched, and CSCRS would not be the same without her.”
Palcher-Silliman began working for the UNC Highway Safety Research Center, which administers the CSCRS program, in 2016. For CSCRS she spearheads a variety of communications activities including websites, newsletters, and social media; manages conferences, webinars, K-12 activities, and other events; oversees project administration; and more.
“I could not be more honored to receive this award,” said Palcher-Silliman. “Working for CSCRS has truly been a career highlight for me. I have learned so much about how collaborative research helps advance road safety and feel so grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this important work.”
